Wow, Malta has really rolled out the red carpet for the President of Cyprus who is here on a 3-day visit!
Yesterday while waiting for the bus home from church last night, I noticed that the main road in Floriana was decked out in the Maltese and Cypriot flags, which usually happens when we have a visiting big-wig (only with appropriate national flags of course).
Then this afternoon I was in Valletta with Michael, and we saw the mounted police ride by, followed by a whole line of cars containing (I assume) the President of Cyprus and Maltese dignitaries/politicians/etc. Some of the cars were empty except for the driver, nice to see our taxes at work...
There were also some policemen on motorcycles, and they seem a little over-enamoured of their sirens.
I also saw (I think) our very own Robert Micallef in front of the Law courts (if not him, then someone who looks a lot like the photo on his website, heh).

I was in Valletta today (as in most days) celebrating the publication of the latest Eurobarometer survey. So it could have been me - next time come and say hello - don't be shy :)

You looked like you were in a hurry, that's why I didn't :-) Prosit on the Eurobarometer!
