A while ago I was on the bus with Little Sis and it was almost full, so we wound up at the front in the rear-facing seat, so the people in the front-facing seat were almost nose-to-nose with us.
One of the ladies fascinated me with her accessories, and I just came across the piece of paper I used to write an inventory of all the gold jewelry that she had on:
- Around her neck: three gold necklaces, all of different lengths and with different pendants. On the first necklace, a cross, on the second, a teddy bear, and on the third a multitude of pendants including a scroll, a fertility symbol and three disks.
- On the right wrist, three bracelets made of gold links.
- On the left wrist, 1 link bracelet and six solid gold bracelets (by that mean that they may have just been gold-plated, but they're the kind that is a solid ring, not made of links).
- On the right hand, just one ring.
- On the left hand, a wedding and an engagement ring on the ring finger, and a large signet ring on the middle finger.
- On the ears, one pair of earrings that were each made of two twists of gold, one twist being studded with diamond.
I'm just sorry that I couldn't take a photo of her without being rude.

Lol! Ah the incomparable joy of riding in a Maltese bus and bein surrounded by some truly Maltese people. I know most are repelled by it all, but I just love it - the way some stink, others shout about private matters at the top of their voices, others dress in weird and complicated costumes... =)

Ah the memories your description brings back!
Isma, I was scanning through your previous posts and was horrified by the fact that as an engineering undergrad you are making do with an horrendously outdated book. I'm coming to malta in a few weeks time, from the UK. Is there anything I could look for in second hand shops - there is a large Uni bookshop here - that I could bring down for you. I realise that you don't know me and I don't know you but I've included my email if you want to take me up on the offer. No pressure.

Hi Phil, wow, thanks for the offer! :-)
I really appreciate that, but I think I'll be fine with what I've got... because I'm being taught from a horrendously out-of-date book too, lol! Well anyway, the lecturer is giving us lots of typed notes, they will serve as my "book".
Thank-you though, it was great of you to offer. I hope you have a good trip when you come back :-)

Hey...I just got here from a comment left at the blog of a cat that speaks Maltese, I think his name is Famhu.
Nice blog :)

Hi Bonnie! Yes, Faħmu is his name - since he's Maltese he gets the cool "ħ" in the middle of his name :-)
And thanks ;-)
