This weekend was the first half of DramaFest 2005, an event where various Maltese theatre groups put on short plays.
Mike and I had gone to the DramaFest last year because one of my friends was involved in StageBreeze's production. Some of what we saw that night was downright weird (had never seen experimental theatre before), but interesting :-)
Yesterday we bought our tickets for Saturday's shows. I picked Saturday because there's an extra perfomance so we get to see seven plays in one night out of the 11 total. Unfortunately, due to airconditioning problems, the venue has been moved from St. James to the Malta Drama Centre at the Maria Regina school in Blata l-Bajda. I've got nothing against the MDC, lol, I've never been there, but I really like St. James' theatre-in-the-round (a converted well, how cool is that?). Anyway, I'm still excited about going to see the plays.
If you're interested in going to the Dramafest, more details and a schedule are available here. There are three days left, Friday, Saturday and Sunday of this weekend (26th to 28th), and each evening's performances are divided into two sets of three plays each, and each set costs Lm2. Tickets available from St. James, and I advise booking because the audience is limited to 90 people.
Enjoy :-)
