In slightly less than six weeks' time, Michael and I will tie the knot.
Eek!
Sometimes I think to myself "Wheee!" and sometimes I think "Aaaaggrrrrh!", but overall I'm very much looking forward to it. It's going to be quite an adventure, what with The Big Day, followed by Romantic Honeymoon, followed by Learning To Live With Each Other (Without Committing Murder).
Heheh.
The wedding preparations are in full swing.
Most recently, Michael has been sorting out the suits for the men, and I've been sorting out the bridesmaids' dresses.
Whenever my future brother-in-law teases me about something, I threaten to dress him in pink for wedding, but unfortunately I've now lost that weapon because he has informed me that pink for men is "moda", and he doesn't care. Lol.
Last week my entourage and I went to buy the material for the above-mentioned dresses, with the tailor. I loved wandering around - so many gorgeous colours and textures - I'd never have thought that I'd have so much fun in a material shop! (I'm becoming so girly...)
I had an idea of what colours I wanted for the dresses, and although we didn't get exactly what I had in mind, what we did choose was even better. Seeing the bolts of material lying next to each other was cool because they go so well together. All those hours of messing around with colours for website design schemes paid off, lol.
I'm looking forward to seeing the dresses made up because I think they're going to look incredible. It's so much fun working with a tailor because he helps to find styles and colours that complement each person, and he's very clever at modifying styles to turn them from "lovely" to "stunning".
My own dress is being bought ready-made, because I fell in love with it in the shop, however I think that I and the rest of the women in my family are now hooked on having clothes made for us *grin*.
All the other preparations are running according to schedule. We've had a few hiccoughs along the way, but managed to work around them. At first getting stuff organised was a huge headache and caused much stress, but now that everything is booked and sorted, and the rest of the preparations are just deciding how we want things to look, it's become a lot easier and a lot more fun!
Regarding Life After The Wedding, that's pretty much sorted except for a few things we need to get, like a phone line and a washing machine. We decided to NOT create extra stress for ourselves by doing more work on the place before moving in - I have even made my peace with the Barbie-pink room, lol, and don't mind that we will wait a while to paint it.
Now please excuse me, I must get on with planning the honeymoon...

Good Luck with the preparations! The Big Day is getting nearer ;)

Thanks everyone *grin*
Dear Wedding Planner: Yes, Yes, Already Happened, and no, because who needs Marie Benoit when you know Coryse Borg? But no, I don't think you will see our wedding in the Society pages of the Sunday Times, lol. I'm sure you'll read much about it here though *grin*
